On 26th November 2015, Edward Lehman appeared on CCTV’s dialogue to discuss the arrest of 5 Chinese scientists in America. The scientists in question were arrested and later released with no explanation. Despite not having been convicted of any wrong doings, the lives of those scientists have been damaged. Edward Lehman made clear his disappointment at the response of US Attorney General, Loretta Lynch, to the fiasco and his stance against racism within the American Justices system.
Other issues discussed included the effect of such arrests on international cooperation between scientists, the need for a body like the NAACP, to advance the interests of Chinese in America and past discrimination against the Chinese people in America.
