Minister of Culture Yu Shugang entered the “Ministerial Channel” and was interviewed by the media to respond to social concerns.
In response to a reporter’s question on “how to implement government responsibilities in protecting and using and inheriting cultural heritage,” Yu Shugang said that General Secretary Xi Jinping has attached great importance to the protection and utilization of cultural heritage. In accordance with the arrangements of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, in recent years, the cultural relics department has carried out the third national survey of cultural relics, the first national survey of movable cultural relics, the first national intangible cultural heritage resource survey, and the national local drama repertoire. Clearing the family property has laid the foundation for doing a good job of protection.
“The core of the cultural heritage work is four (two) words: protection and utilization.” Yu Shugang just introduced that in terms of cultural relics protection, it is mainly to establish and implement a good system for the protection of cultural relics; increasing the responsibility for rescuing and protecting cultural relics must be held accountable; severely crack down on criminal activities of cultural relics; bring cultural heritage protection into the orbit of law. In the aspect of the protection of intangible cultural heritage, it mainly embodies the spirit of “seeing people seeing things and seeing life”. We must step up rescue protection, pass down the craftsmanship of old craftsmen and old artists, and cultivate young inheritors to avoid the appearance of “humans”. The situation of death and technology loss; the implementation of productive protection, especially traditional crafts, must be closely integrated with the people’s production and life, combined with precision poverty alleviation. “Intangible cultural heritage lives in the private sector and dies in the temple. Only when combined with the production and living of the masses can we have a strong vitality. We must integrate the intangible cultural heritage into the times and integrate into our lives.”
We will vigorously promote cultural reform and development and strive to enhance the vitality of cultural development. Cultural development and prosperity are a solid foundation for cultural confidence. It is necessary to deepen the reform of the cultural system, improve the market access mechanism, expand the cultural consumer market, establish a modern enterprise system with cultural characteristics, and build a modern cultural industry system with a reasonable structure, complete categories, and strong competitiveness, striving to build the cultural industry into a national economy. We will vigorously promote the deep integration of culture and technology, manufacturing, information, tourism, education, and sports, and promote innovation in cultural formats. We vigorously accelerated the development of cultural industries such as ceramics, writing brushes, wood carvings, embroidery, fireworks and other firecrackers, supported small and micro-cultural enterprises, and constantly stimulated the vitality of cultural industries. We will vigorously implement key culture-enriching projects, promote the standardization and equalization of basic public cultural services, continue to promote free cultural opening of public cultural venues, cultural and cultural volunteering services, and strive to promote poverty alleviation through culture to meet the spiritual and cultural needs of the people.
According to above, the degree of protection and propaganda of Chinese culture is strengthened year by year from film and television industry, education industry. In another word, magnificent achievements in economy, technology, etc. in China help the protection and propaganda of Chinese culture. For example:
China has more iteratures and films adapted from Chinese own mythology rich in Chinese cultural literature instead of Japanese or Korean;
Variety shows of CCTV provide more Chinese traditional cultural, like diet culture and culture relic;
Which attract young people to learn and study their motherland’s culture instead of the so-called hot major.
The action of protection and propaganda of Chinese culture starts late but is fast.
