It seems that the US, Israel and Saudi Arabia are taking the same side to curb Tehran’s influence across the Middle East. How are they doing this?
USA has funded and provided supporting troops to Syrian rebels who are against both Assad government and Iranian funded militias in Syria. Israel has directly attacked Iranian positions and assets in Syria. USA and Israel are long standing allies. Saudi Arabia is slowly mending ties with Israel, which is no longer seen as a threat to Saudi Arabia in the region. Saudia Arabia is fighting Houthi rebels funded by Iran in Yehmen. The USA last year convinced Saudia Arabia to open its border with Iraq and to mend diplomatic ties with Iraq for the first time in over 20 years, as part of countering Iranian influence in Iraq.
