How serious is the phubbing problem nowadays in China?
According to relevant statistics, there are already more than 750 million netizens in China wherein more than 96% of which are mobile netizen users. People here are always using mobiles for messaging, watching videos, checking up news and reading, etc. When you walk along side the streets, you may easily find out that many passers are looking at their mobiles while walking. Most of passengers on the public transportation will keep staring at their mobiles until they get off the vehicle, and even in restaurants or cafes, people will frequently check up their mobiles while dating and enjoying meals with their relatives or friends.
Phubbing has caused several types of problems in the society. For example, phubbers on the road will more easily encounter traffic accident, and it will not only cause injury to the phubbers themselves, but also will bring troubles to others walking or driving on the road. Mobiles have deprived much time from people for engaging in daily and normal communication activities with others, and it kind of weakened the relationship between one and another. Students are using mobiles on classes and employees are using mobiles during work, efficiency on study and work could likely be reduced, and watching mobiles before going to sleep will undermine the sleep quality. More serious is that the phubbing will cause illnesses such as the eye disease, tendosynovitis and spondylopathy. Therefore, many organizations and people are calling on stopping over using smartphones.
