Notice on INTA 2020

On February 15, 2020, INTA International Trademark Association issued the notice of “important update of INTA 2020 annual meeting”. The notice shows novel coronavirus grows with each passing day, and INTA is fully aware of the persistent and increasing global concern of coronavirus. As well as the guidance of Singapore’s Ministry of health to cancel or postpone unnecessary large-scale activities, they are trying to reschedule the INTA Singapore annual meeting until 2022. Due to the sudden outbreak of the new coronavirus, the date is tentatively scheduled for a certain time in May or June. We will keep track of the time of the meeting. As for the venue of the conference, the venue of the 2020 conference will be in the United States. As of February 17, 2020, novel coronavirus cases were diagnosed in Singapore, 75 cases, 19 people were cured, and there have been 0 deaths.

There is no clear announcement about whether China’s citizens or other Asian residents will be “uninvited” as participants in the annual meeting of INTA in 2020. Based on past experience during the 2003 SARS outbreak, there may still be a possibility that Chinese and citizens of other Asian countries will be barred from participation in the meeting according to the evaluation and suggestions of the World Health Organization and relevant health associations. During the period of China’s SARS in 2003, Chinese Enterprises Industry and citizens were listed as “unwelcome” groups.

We suggest that all stakeholders keep attention to INTA International Trademark Association or pay attention to our relevant information about INTA2020 at any time and make relevant decisions.
