Both 360 And QQ Ordered To Make Public Apology For Incompatible Products

The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology recently issued a circular to criticize two IT companies: Beijing Qihoo Technology Ltd. and Shenzhen Tencent Computer System. The both companies were ordered to make an apology to the public within five working days after the issuance of this Circular, to properly handle users’ problems arising form the accident, to stop attacking each other and to enhance communication so as to ensure compatibility and normal use of relevant software and solve problems encountered in businesses in strict accordance with the provision of the law. The Circular revealed that the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology shall, together with other relevant departments and based on competence, conduct an investigation over the actions of the two companies suspected of violating the relevant laws. Up to the issuance of this Circular, the whole line of products of both companies have been restored to being compatible.
